A
view of the job site. It took 487' of 30" casing to cross
eight lanes of interstate highway, two sets of railroad tracks
and all the associated right of way. |
|
| |
 |
You
can see the Bureau of reclamation water line running above
the casing. This high pressure line could not be shut down
and limited both the size of our casing and the allowable
error in grade. |

Conditions
were wet, with running soils. This makes maintaining accurate
grade difficult, as the leading eadge of the casing wants
to dive. |

 |
Installation
of carrier pipe. Pre-manufactured casing spacers were used
to support the sewer pipe. These eliminated the need for backfill
inside the exceptionally long run of casing pipe. |
